Who Sell Italian Beef Bread in Austin Texas

As the novel coronavirus pandemic continues in Austin, and people continue to social distance to mitigate the spread of the virus, community supported agriculture and meat delivery services offer convenient ways to access groceries.

Typically, CSAs work on a membership system, where freshly picked, local and seasonal produce is delivered on a set schedule, usually weekly or biweekly, for a set amount. The fruits and vegetables (and sometimes herbs and flowers) included will vary with season and availability, giving home cooks an opportunity to experiment. Most CSAs also come with digital communities where you can find advice, recipes, and gain access to members-only perks.

For the carnivores, several local farms and butchers offer their own delivery services, allowing you to bypass the factory-farmed pitfalls of commercial providers. With each delivery, you're supporting small farms, and getting delicious, humanely raised beef, pork and chicken.

1915 Farm: Run by first-generation farmers, Catherine and Tanner Klemcke, this Victoria, Texas-based farm raises organic, humanely treated livestock. They operate on direct-to-consumer sales, and the pasture-raised chickens, grass-fed beef, and heritage-breed pork are shipped around the country. You can order specific products – like naturally cured bacon, beef marrow bones, and pork ossobuco – or opt to get the Grassroots Meat Club, an assorted $179 meat box shipped to you every two, four, six or eight weeks. Sign up online.

Buck Creek Meat: The third-generation Gregory family farm offers multiple ways to buy the grass-fed and grass-finished pasture-raised livestock. Fed exclusively on grass — never grain — this cattle has naturally leaner beef and a more complex flavor than commercially farmed, grain-finished cattle. They offer individual cuts, by-the-pound packages, samplers, box subscriptions, and the option to bulk-buy whole, half, or quarter-sides of an animal (though there's currently a waitlist). All the livestock is ethically raised without antibiotics, hormones, herbicides, or insecticides. There are three price tiers available for the subscription boxes, which start at $150, and you can customize your order by indicating preferred cuts and proteins. Order online here.
